The 17th annual awards

Best Condoms

Our favourite condoms in Australia, category by category, picked fresh every year since 2010. Then the part no other list tells you, which is why our picks are only a starting point.

By spafe ·Reviewed 19 Jul 2026 ·Every winner is a live database entry

Running every year since 2010, this is our 17th annual Best Condoms Awards. Five categories, one winner each, and every pick links to its live spec sheet and current price so nothing here goes stale.

Everyday all-rounder

LifeStyles Ultra Thin

52mm nominal $0.47/condom latex
47where it sits63mm

It is the one you will actually find. LifeStyles Ultra Thin sits on the shelf in every supermarket and chemist in the country, fits the middle of the range, and costs next to nothing per condom. When you just want a solid condom without overthinking it, this is the one.

Snug, close fit

Four Seasons Naked Closer Fit

49mm nominal $1.08/condom latex
47where it sits63mm

Most condoms are built around 54 to 56mm, and if that slips on you a genuine close fit is the fix. At 49mm the Four Seasons Naked Closer Fit grips where a standard one wrinkles, and that snugness is what keeps it on.

Large

Four Seasons Naked Larger

60mm nominal $0.54/condom latex
47where it sits63mm

A true 60mm, and the best stocked of the roomy fits. If standard condoms pinch at the base this gives you room without jumping to a novelty size, and you can actually buy it without hunting.

Flavour

Glyde Vanilla

53mm nominal $0.83/condom latex
47where it sits63mm

Flavour usually means a mouthful of chemicals. Glyde Vanilla is the rare one that is actually pleasant, and it is vegan certified, so for oral it is the pick.

Novelty

Four Seasons Glow N Dark

53mm nominal $0.81/condom latex
47where it sits63mm

Not serious, and that is the point. The Four Seasons Glow N Dark charges under a light and glows, which is a laugh, and it is still a real condom that protects. Fun without being a gimmick that fails when it counts.

The best condom isn’t on this list

Here is the thing every best condoms list leaves out, including ours. The best condom is not a brand, it is the one that fits you. A great condom in the wrong width slips or splits, and a cheap one that fits will beat a premium one that doesn’t, every time. So treat these as a shortlist, not an answer.

The only ranking that matters for you is your own measurement. It takes a minute, you do it once, and then you are buying the size that actually stays put. It’s also the single biggest thing you can do for protection, because fit and technique are the whole gap between condoms’ 98% and 88% effectiveness figures.

And whichever you land on, the best condom in any given moment is the one you have on you. Safe beats perfect, always.

Common questions

What is the best condom in Australia?

There is no single best condom, because the one that fits you beats the one that wins a category. Our awards pick a winner in each category on measured specs and live prices, but the size that suits you decides more than any of them.

How do you choose the winners?

From the database rather than from opinion. Every pick is a real product with its measured width, its current price per condom and a live spec sheet, and the awards are re-checked as the data changes rather than written once a year and left.

Is a more expensive condom better?

Not reliably. Price tracks pack size far more than quality, and everything sold in Australia has to meet the same standard. Buying a bigger box is the change that saves money, not buying a cheaper brand.

Which condom is best for sensitivity?

The thinnest one that actually fits you. A thin condom in the wrong width will move around, which you will notice far more than the fraction of a millimetre of wall thickness.
