Dotted condoms
Dotted condoms have small raised studs across the surface instead of rings, aimed at extra sensation for a partner. Same idea as ribbed, just a different pattern.
Wondering whether dots do more than ribs? It's a fair question, and the honest answer is that it's personal. A dotted condom is covered in small raised dots, sometimes called studs, rather than the rings of a ribbed one. The goal is the same, a bit more stimulation for the receptive partner, and plenty of people can't reliably tell the two patterns apart.
The naming sorts itself out once you've seen it laid out. Dotted and studded are the same thing. Ribbed is rings. "Ribbed and dotted" combines both, and it gets marketed under names like "intense" or "mutual". The texture sits on top of an ordinary condom and changes nothing about how well it protects you.
As with any texture, treat it as a fun experiment rather than a fix. If sex has felt off, fit and lubrication are the places to look first, and our calculator can help with the fit half. Dots are a preference, and being curious is reason enough.
Texture only gets a chance to do its thing once the fit is right. Most “this felt wrong” turns out to be a fit problem, not a texture one.

Frequently asked
What's the difference between dotted and ribbed?
Dotted has raised dots across the surface and ribbed has raised rings around it. Some condoms combine both.
Do dotted condoms reduce sensation for the wearer?
Not meaningfully. The texture is on the outside and aimed at your partner.
